Head of Learning & Development
Shape the Future of Talent Development
Are you passionate about designing impactful learning programs, enabling others to thrive, and shaping talent development? Do you love taking ownership of strategic initiatives and creating frameworks that empower individuals to grow and excel?
NORTH seeks a Head of Learning & Development to lead our talent development efforts and build the NORTH Academy. In this pivotal role, you will develop a cutting-edge learning environment to support our consultants’ growth and success while driving long-term initiatives to enhance talent development across the organisation.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Learning & Development, you will own NORTH’s Talent Development agenda, with a short-term focus on building the NORTH Academy and a long-term focus on enhancing broader talent frameworks such as our counselling, feedback, and knowledge-sharing practices.
The role consists of:
Understanding the context of the full NORTH Talent Development practice, as it looks today, and how learning and competence development fits together with other pieces of the puzzle, like project feedback, counselling/mentoring, promotions, etc. in order to address dependencies to the ‘NORTH Academy’.
Understanding the NORTH’s capability map that has been identified as crucial for consultants to succeed through a lifetime with NORTH.
Understanding and developing the current draft for ‘NORTH Academy’ methodology i.e. methods and philosophy of effective and motivating learning in a consulting company.
Developing a level-based curriculum with clear learning objectives per consulting level.
Creating a roadmap and plan for development and roll-out of new Academy sessions.
Overseeing and quality assuring, but not producing, the training material and content. The role is to delegate production to internal consultants who will be dedicated to production – or to hire external freelancers or companies who can manage specific competences that we are not yet mature to develop in-house (like partner sales training or personal development from manager and upwards).
Creating an annual wheel for academy sessions including allocated trainers, format required, and listing practical requirements.
Over time to define NORTH’s career paths, develop role descriptions, establish training frameworks for the NORTH counsellor role and more.
Your Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you should be ambitious and driven to make NORTH’s talent development truly iconic. You’re not afraid to challenge conventional approaches and take a directive stance in advancing talent development from essential to exceptional education. You are a structured and conceptual thinker with a passion for enabling growth at all levels. Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you bring strong project management skills to deliver impactful outcomes.
You are an orchestrator who can leverage our consultants' untapped knowledge and resources. As a team player, you enjoy empowering others to shine and are not hesitant to involve others in reaching ambitious goals.
You have the following skills and experience:
At least 4-5 years of professional experience, preferably in management consulting or a related industry.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to break down deliverables, sequence activities, and delegate effectively while managing multiple stakeholders in resource-constrained environments.
A stringent executor with a solid understanding of how to manage potential bottlenecks and proactively address issues to keep plans on track.
Comfort with measuring results and evaluating the performance of finished initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
Experience conceptualizing learning programs, including methodologies (e.g., classroom training, online learning) and curriculum design (e.g., skill progression frameworks).
A passion for developing talent, driven by curiosity about employee growth and the ability to prioritize the skills critical to success at NORTH.
Motivation to explore how talent develops in the best possible way, coupled with curiosity about employees’ aspirations and a willingness to test new ideas that could improve their capabilities.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with creativity and attention to detail.
